Allison

Allison Lanty joined the firm as a Partner in August 2024. Allison grew up in Dallas, Texas and graduated from SMU in 1986. Her desire to help people led her to law school at The American University where she graduated Cum Laude in 1990. While attending law school, Allison clerked at the United States Attorney’s Office in the District of Columbia.

After law school, Allison returned to Texas and is currently licensed to practice law in all Texas State Courts, the United States District Court for the Eastern District and the Western District of Texas, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. In 1997, Allison became Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, making her a criminal law expert.

Allison has worked as a Prosecutor on 2 separate occasions for a total of 27+ years and as a Defense Attorney for 6+ years. As a Prosecutor, she came to the Guadalupe/Gonzales/Lavaca area in April 1994 as an Assistant District Attorney for the 25th Judicial District. In Gonzales County, not only did Allison prosecute adult felony cases but she also prosecuted juvenile offenders, represented the child welfare department (until May 2000), and was a member of the multi-disciplinary team for the Gonzales County Children’s Advocacy Center. On January 1, 2005, she was named the First Assistant District Attorney and was assigned solely to Gonzales and Lavaca Counties. As a Defense Attorney, Allison had a solo practice covering criminal defense for both adults and juveniles, preparing Wills, and handling Probate matters.

When not working, Allison enjoys attending sporting events both collegiate and professional with her son John and his wife Megan, who both graduated from Texas Tech University, and her daughter Linda, who graduated from Texas A&M University.
